"Vulnerable" predator !
It is such a heart sickening thing to read news about huge magestic predators put under threat simply due to anthropogenic activities.
I read two news related to Whale Sharks and Great White sharks and found them amazing.
IUCN and WCS rates Whale Sharks under Vulnerable Category (and also in CITES then?) and I am sure they will move up high in the categorical list to endangered and possibly Extinct someday :-(
Probably as the paper http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/4279278.stm says, because of the slow mobility they easily fall prey to the nets and trawls... ?
The article on Great White Sharks tracks the movement of the tagged (famous) Nicole (Great White Shark's name) and her long journey through Indian Ocean (National Geographic News), from Africa to Australia, a total of 12,400 miles - for what ? Love !!! man, thats great... and nice to hear right? Animal romance has been a fascinating area for me. I feel that they are more naive :-)...Well, i guess Tom Cruise must be feeling very jealous, he wants another animal to be named by him?
Well, I dint like naming her as Nicole and all that "girlish" stuff...
hmphh...
I somehow found a NParks newsletter on Wetlands lying in front of my flat today morning and after reading it I am very much driven to visit Sungei Buloh as early as possible....
Good night, Yaawww... My back is aching, the law assignment has really exhausted me man...
I have my proposal to work on tomorrow, oopss.... There is a quiz for the Tropical Marine Ecosystem module... Should be an interesting one...
See you
