Human rights - whats that ?

I was introduced to his Malaysian friend today during the lunch, happened to discuss about this "Strip search", the balai polis (Malaysian police) had done to a woman (Chinese). It was all news for the past few days. It is ofcourse breach of human rights in the Lock-up rules and Criminal procedure Code - A woman prisoner must be first of all searched only by a woman police; Before putting into the lock up (should be an "accused" atleast "suspect" to be put in lockup), no person can be checked by stripping... in this case she is just a custom detainee... There was this telling tales video clip released in the internet (access restricted) - which is a video clip of that nude woman, with male and female police officers around. Now the issue is that checking has been done on a Chinese woman; The worst thing about the whole issue is that she was made to do ear squats. I shall repeat : EAR SQUATS ? This sucks.

Police anarchy is becoming an issue; Were this person doubted be another national (say a caucasian?), how would things turn out to be aa? Strange world !!!

Malaysian PM has asked publicly apologies to Chinese nationals for this act. However, I am surprised why one should do such a thing, video tape it and make it an issue.

And only one such thing has come out - just the tip of the ice berg.

I was remembered of the movie Mahanadi - where the warden ill treats the old man (Poornam viswanathan), by throwing his food in the toilet. It was such an affecting scene. However that scene is different from this scenario except that police people are involved in both.

This Malaysia issue is rather seen as Chinese-Malaysian general conflicts and breach of prison rules, and raising anarchy of Polis.

Would not like to comment much, but my personal experience with Tamil Nadu police was not good. Good officers might be there, but significant weeding is an imperative.

Whatever it is, even if that woman was a criminal, it is such a bad nasty thing to do to a fellow human being ?!! Well, there are still good souls though, Humanity is becoming scarce, and thats sad....
